This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I finished the last piece at around 5 am this morning, the 28th, so I am next to ecstatic about that, got all the full rez work sent over to the boss man about an hour ago...now it's time to go watch Halloween 2 and party!
Question for the Orlockster... I started a comic recently. I've never done a comic before. I'm doing it in a fairly realistic B&W style since that's all I'm familiar with when it comes to ink and I'm not very experienced at digital work.
As a comic artist, are there any good books or anything you can recommend to help me along?

One of the most important things you can do is develop your own style. Are you scanning these in and trying to manipulate them digitally at least on levels and contrast and what not or are you going for the hand drawn look? I've settled into a hand drawn digitally colored style that is working awesomely for me at the moment.
Do you need to know more about how to get the pages ready for publication or to emulate a particular style or what? I suppose I require more pointed questions to go more in depth rather than just to inundate you with information that could be hit or miss.
Right now I'm doing it similar to the old pre-computer method: pencil in areas, ink it, erase pencil. I've been scanning them in for cleanup and to do the paneling. All the text is going to be done with a calligraphy pen since my regular handwriting is awful. It's just black and white for now but I like the idea of maybe digitally coloring part of it. I have Photoshop 6 and Photoshop CS2 here... used to have Painter but my brother has the disc. I think a tablet might also be handy to get in the future, yes?
Yeah, anything you can tell me about formatting/getting the pages in order would be helpful. I'm thinking something like a mostly sparse, minimal style with some really art heavy pages every so often. Although I always liked the way old American comics were drawn, I'm enjoying the way the newer ones (the "fusion" style ones, I guess) are shaded and colored. They have a very smooth, clean look.
Here's a sample from the first page I've worked on. This isn't the whole sheet, just the top. [link]
I actually think this looks a lot like it was totally drawn digitally. I'm not sure which I prefer. The first style is simpler but the second looks more like a comic.

Yeah I've seen your Micros and they are really good. I love the horror ones and the Jason masks turned out awesome. The way they look made me want to re do my Jason Micros because I did those back when I first started making Micros and they would look so much better if I did them the way I do micros now. After I get done with my Michael Jackson ones I probably will start redoing the Jason ones.
